Mitchell Therapy Pool
The Mitchell Therapy Pool at VAC (MTP) is an indoor, heated and specially equipped therapy pool for adults and children, and is the only therapy pool in central Vermont. With its warm waters and specialized ramps, the pool provides therapeutic swimming for children and adults with special needs.
The pool also offers a diversified program of recreational swim lessons, instructional classes at all levels, birthday parties, and therapeutic activities.

Youth Swim Lesson Schedule Starting April 22,2013
Classes start the week of April 22, 2013. All classes last for 5 weeks. To register fill out the form below and return with payment of $60 to the Vermont Achievement Center, 88 Park St Rutland VT 05701. We will contact you only if the class you choose is filled. Children who are not toilet trained are required to wear swim diapers. If you have any questions, please call Ann Hunt at 802-773·7187 or 802-775-2395 ext. 303. Classes fill-up quickly so early registration is advised.We reserve the right to re-arrange classes with limited enrollment
Parent Child Swim Ages 6 months-3 years
Classes Mondays 10am- 10:40am ( 4/22/13-5/20/13) or Friday 5:15pm-5:55pm (4/26/13-5/24/13) . Parents and children learn together through fun-filled classes to increase children’s comfort in the water and build a foundation of basic aquatic and water safety skills. One adult must accompany each child. $60 for 5 sessions
Tot Swim Classes for ages 3-5 Classes start the week of April 22,2013 – 5 weeks of Lessons- $60 per child per class . Register for one of the classes below:Tot Beginner Level 1: Orients children to the aquatic environment and helps them gain basic aquatic skills Class: Tuesday 3:00-3:40pm ( 4/23/13 – 5/21/13)
Tot Intermediate Level 2: Helping children gain greater independence in aquatic skills and develop more comfort in and around the water. Class Thursday – 3:30pm-4:10pm (4/25 – 5/23/13)
Tot Advanced Level 3: Gives participants success with fundamental aquatic skills: stroke development and self-help rescue skills. Class: Tuesday- 4:00pm-4:40pm (4/23 – 5/21/13)
Girls & Boys Lesson Ages 6 & over Classes start the week of April 22, 2013 – 5 weeks of Lessons- $60 per child per class Register for one of the classes below:
Ages 6 & over Beginner level 1: Helps children start to gain basic swimming propulsive skills and to be comfortable in and around the water learning elementary water skills to build and progress through multiple levels. Class Monday 4:50pm-5:30pm (4/22 – 5/20/13)
Ages 6 & over Intermediate Level 2: Gives participants success with fundamental aquatic skills: stroke development and self-help rescue skills.Class Tuesday 4:40pm-5:10pm (4/23- 5/21/13)
Ages 6 & over Advanced Level 3: Builds on aquatic skills deeper water. Fundamentals such as front and back crawl are applied as well as treading for promoting success of each individual swimmer. Class Thursday 4:20pm-5:00pm (4/25 – 5/23/13)
