HURRICANE IRENE FLOODS THE SHELDON ACADEMY AT VAC, YOUR HELP IS NEEDED
Sheldon Academy, at VAC, is a therapeutic day school working with students who for a variety of reasons are presently unable to attend public school. Sheldon Academy felt the effects of Hurricane Irene. The first floor of our school was flooded with over a foot of water. Our Primary classrooms, Middle School classrooms as well as our culinary class room all sustained serious damage and are presently unusable. Thanks to our hard working and dedicated staff we salvaged what we could and moved our Primary and Middle School programs up stairs, where we had some vacant classrooms. The rooms look great and the students are once again in a healthy and nurturing classroom environment. We lost a great deal of supplies and learning resources. Any help in replacing these things would be greatly appreciated and truly make a difference in the life of our students. Respectfully submitted Mitch Golub Director of Education, Sheldon Academy.
